Ms. Brittany Poitier truly has a heart for people and Drag Racing. She has dedicated her entire life giving back to the Community and ensuring that every person she encounters, have his or her Social, Emotional, and Environmental needs met. Growing up as a daughter of a Race Car Driver, she was exposed to the thrill and excitement of the sport at a very young age. As her father got older and leaned closer towards retirement after over 50 years of Drag Racing, Brittany decided to step up to the plate and follow in her father's footsteps by taking over the family Drag Racing Business.
Outside of Drag Racing, Ms. Poitier currently works for the Broward County Public School District as a Community Liaison, Equity Liaison, Youth Mental Health First Aider, Broward County Public Schools Trauma Support Stakeholder, a Student Support SAFE Personnel, Title I Read and Rise Literacy Facilitator, the Director of B.E. SHINE Mentorship Program, the Director of B.E. Pod Pals Student and Teacher Mentorship Program, B.E. Road to Success Tutoring Program Coordinator, B.E. Community Partnership Coordinator, and B.E. Student Services Family and Community Food and Clothing Pantry Director. Ms. Poitier also considers herself as a lifelong learner. In 2013 Ms. Poitier received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Phoenix, in 2021 she received her M.A. in Human Services Counseling Specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University, and she is currently continuing her education and working towards her Ph.D. in Public Administration at Liberty University.
Ms. Poitier also has a passion for educating the public surrounding Autism and ADHD Awareness, therefore she became a member of the National Autism Society in 2012, and proudly dedicates her time Advocating for individuals with Special Needs. In addition to advocacy, Ms. Poitier is an Ordained Minister, an awe-inspiring conversationalist, a nationally recognized Public Speaker on topics such as Childhood Depression and Literacy Awareness, a member of the National Association of Christian Ministers, a member of the Florida Education Association, and a member of The American Association of Christian Counselors.
Aside from being a part of an elite few of African American Women Race Car Driver’s who Drag Race in both the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) and the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), she is the Founder and President of a Non Profit organization called Do It From The Heart Inc., the 2019-2020 Broward County Public Schools Non-Instructional Employee of the Year Award Recipient, the 2019-2020 Broward College Martin Luther King Jr. Award Recipient, and a Finalist for the 2020-2021 State of Florida Department of Education Non-Instructional Employee of The Year Award.
Brittany created Brittany P. Racing LLC to not only shine a light on her passion and talent when it comes to Drag Racing; however to provide opportunities for youth and adults to receive hands on experience and engagement in the field of automotive, aerodynamics, and STEAM in conjunction with the sport of Drag Racing. In addition, Brittany P. Racing LLC established a goal to partner with local communities in combatting the fight against Literacy Deprivation in low-income neighborhoods across the country, and provide a company for other racers just like her who need support, assistance, coaching, guidance, and motivation in his/her/they quest in establishing a mark in the elite professional sport of Drag Racing.
Ms. Poitier is a true believer that, “All Things are Possible if You Believe in Yourself, and Never Lose Sight of Your Goals.”
